Giovanna Casotto (born 1962) is a native of the Italian city of Desio, an illustrator and artist. Before starting her creative career, she was a housewife, became interested in caricature and illustration, studied for three years at the Milan Art School, after which she published several stories written by Mauro Muroni for Intrepido. She is considered the first woman in Italy to paint erotica.
Her main source of inspiration was particularly attracted to the nude human figure, the style of Franco Saudelli, with whom she later had the opportunity to collaborate.
Publisher Stefano Trentini offered in 1991 to draw stories with a football background, but she refused, not feeling drawn to the genre.
