There’s nothing you can do about it. Language lives as it lives, according to its own laws, and contrary to your / our ideas about what is “right” for it and what is not.
I can give you a lot of examples when words still seeped into the language, despite the groaning and discontent. And they took root well, over time. I can, but I don’t want to pollute the airwaves.
