Previously, we worked with each subject, built a frame - set the light (it is very important to make the right shadows; this was taught before, and therefore even from vintage photos, due to the way the shadows lie, you can understand whether it was shot by a pro or an amateur, but not only for this reason), sat down the model, corrected her hairstyle, straps on clothes (if in clothes))) etc., then they were filmed, wasting two or three frames of film, then rebuilding everything again. Therefore, shooting rarely took more than 2-3 rolls of film. Yes, there were, as photographers called them, nutcrackers, who could shoot 10 or more films per shoot. but what kind of work with light is there, it’s more of a reportage. And there were also medium format cameras, with only 12 6x6 frames, they were even more careful in the construction of each frame (Helmut Newton, Richard Avedon mostly shot with medium format, look at their photos of how they worked with the model). And also a large format camera with 2 frames (photo plates), such masters already know in advance what they want to get and can devote an hour or more to one frame. Something like this...

Also regarding what was said above, that the color is cooler than b/w. Here, of course, color doesn’t stand next to b/w, but this is not the platform for such discussions.
