Nowadays, all styles/genres of rock are on the rise. New groups emerge all the time, releasing new volumes. Thanks to the development of digital technology, musicians can create together from a distance. And they can now reach listeners directly, and listeners can pay them directly. Recording studios, labels, producers are no longer needed, it is no longer necessary to even invest money in promotion - if the song is good, then it will reach the hearts of millions on its own.
And the music, the songs themselves, are now much better, more complex, technically than what was in metal/rock 20-30 years ago. And it pleases.
Now I go to YouTube, type "melodic death metal 2023" into the search - and it gives me compilations of wonderful music from all over the world. In the Philippines, Bolivia, Mexico, Poland, Bulgaria, they make music no worse than in America/Western Europe.
We are lucky to live these days.
