In our world, everyone is chasing self-development, beauty and money. Some people have forgotten what their friends look like because of endless projects on which 80% of their time is spent, some people prefer to trade dinner with their family for hard workouts in the gym, and there are also people who spend everything, including and free time at work. And when all these people are offered to spend at least a day on themselves, it is difficult for them to get out of it, and all this is because of the feeling of guilt. They experience this feeling because they believe that if they miss time, they will not be able to get into the usual rut. Many still depend on the opinions of others and are afraid of their condemnation.
But this desire should not be confused with cognitive interest and an orderly life. I will share with you that I have streamlined my life and do things at a specially allotted time, I feel more comfortable this way.[/b] And when I travel, I prefer active recreation, visiting a large number of places. Yes, sometimes I have to ask myself for permission to be idle, and traveling can be very energy-consuming because I get too carried away. But this suits me quite well, and rest is always present in my life. I am often asked: “How not to burn out due to being tired at school/work, or because of relationships?” And I answer unequivocally: “Rest.” Today I decided to tell you how to stop working like a horse and introduce a little idleness into your life. And don’t blame yourself for it.
If we are talking about travel, then you should accept the fact that any trip is stress for the body and psyche. New places are all very interesting, but your impressions are worth absolutely nothing to your body. Air travel, a train trip - shock, climate change, and living conditions also cause stress. The body reacts to this in the following way: it splashes a cocktail of adrenaline and cortisol into the blood. That is why in the new, It’s hard to sleep in an unfamiliar place. And the impressions of the trip remain vivid, because they are colored by a large amount of stress hormones in the blood.
Some people experience joyful excitement while traveling, others, on the contrary , stressful. The former, as a rule, blame the latter for preferring a quiet pastime instead of enjoying new experiences. Although here it is worth taking into account the individual characteristics of the body and psyche. But both of them can schedule their days by the hour, in the morning to one place, at lunch - to another, in the evening - to a third, so much so that there will be no time to sit down. By doing this we load the psyche, although it needs rest.
The nervous system requires rest, and in travel and in general in everyday life. That’s why we so often want to return to a familiar place, rewatch our favorite TV series, re-read our favorite book. Familiar places and activities calm us down.
Sometimes it’s hard to let yourself relax, on weekends or weekday evenings. Rest does not correlate with any “should” or any benefit at all. For us, our desires are associated with the word “want” and idleness. Things happen, they are useful and necessary, but we have begun to forget about the word “want.” We are just replacing one “should” with another.
Always remember that we need to rest. After all, we sleep, in order for our body to rest, so our head and psyche need peace. And do not confuse travel with rest, we need rest when we are tired, and travel when we crave new experiences. Find time for idleness, limit contact with people, bring silence into your life. Set aside a few hours in the evening to spend just for yourself. If your week is busy, then leave the weekends for rest. When you have time in your life for doing nothing, you will become much more effective in the things you do!
Take care of yourself, health is the most important thing you have! Things won’t go away, but your body may suffer without rest! Give yourself permission to be lazy!
